The set started with 'Neverending'. Weird. Had to adjust my head. Is this thing on? No hour long sound check. Just started right in... wait! Wha'? This song is usually later in the set!? I know! It's crazy! Shaking things up, SC style.
The bass was HUGE! Very very HUGE! The first 5 songs or so...HUGE bass. Floor shaking bass...almost too much bass. 'Annie' has the coolest bass-line-and my favorite ending to any Carvee song. Fast, edgy and fun. Makes me do my version of a celtic headbang. *side to side* HA! WooOOOEEE!
'Backroom' makes me want to waltz. *one two three one two three* Haven't heard it yet? Listen for the lyrics... it's a 'been there, felt that' kind of a thing.

The SC's played TWO NEW SONGS! Yes...two NEW songs! New trad done Sandcarvers-style songs! (read: the songs have been introduced to ROCK!) YAY! The first, 'Reilly's Daughter' has some...interesting lyrics (my gran would call 'em bawdy). Watch the vocalist (AJ) during this one at your next show. Hehe. Smooth moves! *bam bam bam* 'Old Dun Cow' has a billion zillion lines. Not really, but it sure has a lot of words. It's interactive and FUN. Bring yer shoutin' voice. Me during the new songs? *AHHH new new no warning! NEW songs! Listen to the lyrics-and the instruments and the everything everywhere what is that? The drums? What did he say? Yell! Whoa! I can't...where's my notebook? AHHH!* You can listen to the songs online- but they sure don't sound like the Carvee's versions. (thankfully! So much better with rock!)
'Dinner's Set'. Complicated. Wonderful. Bassoon. *sigh*
'Barleycorn'. Wicked good. Kick arse song with a MONSTER of an intro.
The T5 is back! Was it gone? Yes...yes it was gone. It's back! YAY! Gorgeous guitar.
If you haven't been to a Sandcarver show lately~you'll have some catching up to do. They have 52 new songs! Not really, but it seems like it. New songs flying out of this band all over the place. Good songs. Really good songs. Just when you think they can't top a song...they do! Damn.
The stage show is tight-it's a different picture than two years ago. Fast paced and mad for it are they...
